Standing by Talha: IB Alumni Unite to Support a 15th Batch Student’s Medical Journey
At the heart of the IB Alumni Community is a promise — to stand by each other in times of need. Today, that promise calls us to rally around one of our own: Shayakh Talha, a bright and promising student of the IB BBA 15th Batch, who is facing an unexpected and challenging health battle.
🔬 About the Condition
Talha has been diagnosed with Writer’s Cramp, a rare and debilitating neurological disorder that affects the fine motor skills of the hand. Over the past year, this condition has severely hampered his ability to write, take exams, and even perform basic academic tasks. Despite multiple treatments in Bangladesh, including consultations with renowned neurologists, progress has been limited.
Specialists have now advised advanced treatment in South Korea, where a more targeted intervention is available.
💰 Estimated Treatment Cost
The total estimated cost, including travel, accommodation, medical consultations, and necessary injections, ranges between:
USD 2,000–2,800
(Approx. BDT 2.45–3.5 Lakh)
For Talha and his family, this is a heavy burden to carry alone — which is why he has reached out to the IB Alumni Community for help.
💙 Our Goal
As the IB Alumni Community, we have committed to raising at least BDT 1,00,000 to support Talha’s treatment. This is a completely voluntary initiative, rooted in empathy and solidarity — no one is expected to give beyond their capacity. Your kind words, encouragement, and prayers matter just as much as your contributions.
