Alumni Involvement at the “IB 17th Batch Fresher’s Orientation Program” & Meeting with Professor Dr. Suborna Barua for Alumni Association Revitalization!

Dear IB Alumni,

 

We are happy to inform you that we had a wonderful and impactful involvement in the 17th Batch Freshers’ Orientation Program on 30th-Sep-2024. 

 

During the program, we had a detailed discussion with our Chairman, Professor Dr. Suborna Barua, where several important topics were brought up regarding the future of our Alumni Association and academic advancements.

 

 

Chairman Sir has requested that we immediately form the official Alumni Committee and start the Member Registration Process for the Department of International Business. This is the first step toward having an official Alumni Association recognized by the department, and we need your support to make it a success!

 

In an exciting proactive move, Sir proposed that if the university imposes any restrictions on outsider access to the campus, the department will issue Alumni ID Cards for registered members of the Alumni Association! What a fantastic approach to ensuring our continued connection to our beloved department! 

 

We had a detailed conversation about IB Academic Updates based on industry demands and job market trends. One of the key proposals was to introduce Business Data Analysis (either as a credit or non-credit course) to better align with the evolving global business landscape. Professor Barua agreed, emphasizing that IB is indeed the most dynamic department within the Faculty of Business Studies. 

 

Sir requested that we form our Alumni Committee and submit a written recommendation to the department. He plans to raise these suggestions in the upcoming Academic Committee Meeting. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to ensure that our alumni insights are shaping the curriculum for future students!

 

Exciting news! I personally requested the use of the Department’s Research Center Office for official Alumni work, and Sir gladly approved it!  Not only that, but he has also instructed the department staff to provide tea and snacks for our official Alumni Association meetings. How amazing is that? 

 

We are planning to register the IB Alumni Association under the Society Act, and several of our alumni have offered their support to ensure due diligence and smooth progress on this matter.

 

Sir has also requested that we immediately publish the Alumni Association website. We will need to demonstrate how it works and showcase all the features. This website will be a key tool in connecting alumni and keeping everyone updated.

 

Sir emphasized the importance of keeping the option open for current students to link up with Alumni through our platform. Our website will play a crucial role in making this happen, fostering collaboration between the alumni and student community.
